Biennial (readily self-seeds so acts as perennial)
Days to Maturity: Blooms in 2nd year
Hardiness Zones: 3-8
This flower blooms double flowers in a mix of pastel and dark colors. They can grow to be 6 ft tall. It is recommended to scarify seeds by soaking them overnight before planting. It is best to direct seed these where you want them to grow. They have a long taproot so don't transplant well. The best and easiest time to sow seed is in the fall but can also be planted 1-2 weeks before the last frost.
In a sunny location with well drained soil sow seeds at 1/4" deep and 1" apart. Germinates in 15-25 days. Once seedlings are 3" tall thin down to every 18" apart.
